Is this change exclusive to corporate Avalons, or will franchises have to do the same?

So far, as an employee of a franchise branch this is the first I've heard of it, and we're typically a pretty organised bunch when it comes to

I'll be speaking to my head foreign teacher tomorrow about this.

Like a previous post said term time ends mid december, then it goes into VIP mode then schools back in March. So Saturday class could start as soon as 2nd week of December.

If Korean law is stopping public schools on Saturday I 100% expect all Korean hagwans to open up on Saturday. Expect the better run Avalon's to be doing this as soon as possible.

If they do, it will be a big breach of contract. I don't know how they're getting away with it at certain campuses already.

Foreign staff at a loss as unpaid salaries spike

Already posted and debunked in the same article

Quote:
The ministry said the amount of overdue wages for foreigners has risen steadily in recent years. The amount stood at 6.28 billion won in 2007 and 17.03 billion won in 2008. It jumped to 23.68 billion won the following year and reached 9.79 billion won in the first six months of this year, the report showed.

It's fallen not spiked. 9.79 billion is far less then 23.68 billion.

Let's all hold our hands in prayer and ask for this recession to hurry up and end. Also, when things flip back to us, let's also remember Korean bosses and companies who have tried to exploit us with this BS. (Though I personally am not really treated that bad by my PS job.) But for the rest of you and maybe my future, the recession has really shaken up the industry. Companies here are pushing hard. Demanding more work with less pay because they can. I hope you will heap abuse on them when things flip back. Bury this in your collective memories and be patient, my children.
