Disclosure scotland told me on the phone that you can apply online through a back door in there system, you need to put your UK postal address in with a care of in your current address section, and then when you add addresses in you can put your real addresses in. Or at least this is what I understood. Not sure if this will cause issues with Immi, but might be worth a shot if your in a real rush.
In the end I didn't need to do that, but thats what the woman on the phone said I could do. Hope this helps. |

The current Footprints Recruiting visa guidelines state that immigration are no longer accepting CBCs from Disclosure Scotland. Anyone know if that's true? |
Footprints are full of crap. Disclosure Scotland is THE nationwide CRC check. There is no higher check than that. |

These guys claim to do it all for people currently living in Korea. For about 200 quid it seems they will do a national criminal check and apostille it. They'll also get the apostille onto a photocopy of your degree. Basically they do the checks, certification etc themselves, and then send it to FCO for apostille on your behalf.

It says the criminal check is national, a basic disclosure, using the UK Police National Computer (PNC).

Anybody have any experience of this company? I found them by chance, because Disclosure Scotland's website keeps prompting me to do something with Outlook on my computer when I try to request a form. I've been out of England for a long time, so have no utility bills in my name or any of the other stuff they require for online application.
Getting my degree certified and notarised in Korea is possible, but it's a lot of faffing and also pretty expensive before I even send it to the FCO for the apostille. Do you think Kimmi would accept something from this company? |

If I've understood this correctly, for those of us in Korea, we can get a copy of our diploma certified by the British Council and then sent off to the FCO for the apostille. Is that correct? Can you just turn up at the BC with copies of diploma in hand and explain what you want, or do you need to email/phone them first? Is this the correct email address for the BC in Seoul: [email protected]? |

No, you have to process the application for the BC via their Korean page. I can't remember where on the site it is, but it's not in a very obvious place. They'll check with your university to see if your degree checks out. You then go in to collect it after a few days. It was not prepared when I picked mine up - they had to print off copies, stamp them, and sign them there and then. |

@Morrisonhotel,
Does the online application via the BC's website involve scanning/emailing a copy of your diploma or do you need to mail it to them? Or do they obtain said copy of diploma from your actual university? That part doesn't make sense.
Am I correct in believing that the CRC via Disclosure Scotland is still the same process as it was late last year, i.e. CRC notarised by DS and then apostilled by the FCO?
Thanks. |

The former was the way that my application was processed,
As far as I know. |

Well I've searched the BC Korea website (English-language version) and have come up empty handed. I'm going to send them an email and hope that proves more fruitful. |

Success at last! They responded to my email with a link to the page in question. You were right about it being in a not-very-obvious place on the website. Cheers. |

When I did mine ( I living here in the UK), I did not provide any utility bills either. I think if you do it online you don't have to but you do have to provide your mothers maiden name. |

For those of us staying in Korea but changing jobs, is it possible to obtain a Korean CRC rather than having to go through Disclosure Scotland, and if so, would this be accepted by immigration and how does one go about obtaining one?
I thought I read somewhere that a local (Korean) criminal record check is acceptable, but I can't seem to find anything. Any thoughts? |
