lol fail.
I can see the course description now:
"Have you ever just wanted to uproot your life and be thrusted into a backwards culture? Have you ever imagined your self jobless after completing 120 hours of Ivy League schooling? Well look no further! Korean Language course: where the American dream goes to die and where you can be a hagwon monkey the rest of your life working life. |

Are they going to offer soju during finals week so the kids can feel depressed and miserable just like a real Korean? That would make it authentic. |

If his answer is yes then it makes his response all the more legitimate. |

It doesn't really, though. Does it? Why would you consider the responses of someone who made the choice to marry in to a "backwards culture" legitimate? I would consider them pretty idiotic |

Considering the state of the Korean economy it could prove to be a useful language. I doubt people taking Korean language courses at good universities are doing it to teach esl. Rather it is a language that few people learn, so it might be more marketable eventually than something like chinese which many people are learning. Also when the North colapses, I imagine there will be a demand for Korean speakers in the non-profit and governmental sector. |
