I am going to be teaching a study/practice course for students intending to compete in the International English Writing Contest, sponsored by Yonsei, LG, and a bunch of other folks. I found the website and downloaded the sample test, as well as the scoring rubric, so I have a pretty good idea of how to approach the class....

The problem is that I am teaching the 3rd and 4th grade elementary school students, and I have a lack of essay topics suitable for that age group -- I have a ton of stuff for middle school and up, as well as all the ToEFL essays, and other, higher level standardized tests.

Does anyone have a) any of the lower elementary school essay topics from the previous 5 years of this contest (besides the most recent, which I have) b) a link to a forum/messageboard/other site that has information about the lower and upper elementary school essays for this contest or c) a link to or list of elementary school essay topics?

Usually in grades 3 and 4, I am working on getting them to write complete, correct paragraphs, NOT 300 word essays...so I have a dearth of material suited to this age group, and was hoping someone else might have some suggestions....

Thank you in advance.
