Hi,

I'm about to buy a new laptop and would appreciate your thoughts on what specs I should be prioritizing. I am not a gamer. I will be mainly using it for internet browsing, streaming, downloading and uni work.

I plan to spend around 400 pounds (700k won). Have a look at the two laptops below:

http://www.dabs.com/products/toshiba-satellite-pro-c660-1t1-core-i3-380m-6gb-500gb-15-6--windows-7-home-premium-64-bit-laptop-7HMR.html

http://www.dabs.com/products/lenovo-g570-core-i5-2410m-4gb-500gb--dvd-rw-15-6--windows-7-home-premium-7FR4.html

The first, a Toshiba, has more memory and arguably a better brand. The second, Lenovo, has a faster processor and slightly longer battery life.

I am leaning towards the Lenovo one, but am interested to hear what others (who are probably more savvy than myself in this area) think.

Thanks

The only real difference is that the Lenovo has a better CPU and the Toshiba has 2GB more RAM........for your needs I'd say a better CPU is more useful than 6GB of RAM.

(you can add 4GB more RAM to that Lenovo if you really need to in the future to make a whopping 8GB)

I'd go for the Lenovo......BTW, Lenovo is just as prestigious a brand name as Toshiba....if not more.

I would argue that Lenovo is the better brand.

But all else being equal, it's easy to upgrade the memory... often impossible to upgrade the CPU (in laptops, that is).
