Anyone do this recently? There used to be a sticky on the Visa run but it seems to be gone?

I haven't had to do an Osaka run in over 6 years so I am wondering if things have changed.

Way back in 2003 you used to be able to get it same day. Then it changed to next day. What's the turn around these days?

Anything specific I need beyond the Visa Issuance Number, photos and the cash?

Thanks.

I was there around two weeks ago. You must submit your visa issuance number, photo, passport, application form (make sure you have you employers phone number and address handy) and 5,000 Yen before 3 O' clock on the day you apply.

You can then pick up your passport (they will need it overnight) with visa from 1.30 the next day.

It's just a short stroll from Namba Station. Ensure there are no Japanese public holidays on when you intend to travel. The embassy won't be open and I've heard plenty of stories of people landing over only to find the embassy closed. Any other questions, feel free and I can help you.

Make sure to say hello to the owner of Murphy's Irish Bar from me if you get a chance to pop in.

The Osaka run used to be so good. Fly out in the morning, turn in your documents, come back in the afternoon pick up our passport/visa and fly out the same day. Home by 9 or so.

Yes, it is still an option for anyone who has had a previous E2.

The problem with Japan is it can be expensive.
