BOFA will start charging for debit card fees. That totally sucks. They better not charge for Notary either.

If you can get say Bank of America to notarize your degree, go for it. But technically wouldn't the registrar have to go to the bank with the documents? The bank would have to know she is issuing the degree, the same way they would have to know who is issuing any document? |

Bank of America isn't insured to notarize true copies anyway. At least the one I went to said that. It's possible (and perhaps likely) they were confused and another branch might have said differently.
I ended up getting it done at FEDEX/Kinkos. So, yes, had to pay but I was tired of d***ing around with BOA. |

? Don't want to sidetrack this thread too much but your BOA debit card does have a VISA logo on it so you could use it as a credit card to avoid the fee.
Or maybe now is a good time to try a rewards credit card.
At any rate no one in Korea is going to care that much about this fee. My BOA account stays pretty dormant when I'm overseas...especially considering the cost of international transaction fees with this same debit card. |

In the Banking Industry its a matter of Image vs Income.
There are great numbers of folks who have BOA and CHASE bank accounts because of the services and the prestige of tossing the names of these powerful institutions around. For the Bank, though, its not cost effective to have diddly little accounts with marginal balances and a host of housekeeping associated with them. Rather, it makes more sense to raise the charges for services, and the wealthy clients will stay while the poorer clients will leave.
For myself, having been a long-term client of these banks, I have never found that they offer anything that the typical community bank or Credit Union can't provide, and at a better price and with greater customer service. Sure the big banks can advertise on national TV, but guess whose paying for that high-profile advertising. FWIW.
Best Wishes,
Bruce |

The problem with those union banks, you can't find them anywhere. Just waste time to get money from your account. I would probably boycott BOFA and then eventually go back to them.
