Hello everyone, I am curious as to what is the fastest time anyone has ever received their CBC back? Unfortunately, I sent mine in about 3 weeks ago, so I have a long ways to go.

Any thoughts?

Also, can you tell me about how anxious you were as you waited for it to come back? Everyone is always like, "So, heard anything from Korea yet," and I'm like, "nope, just waiting on that paperwork..." Over and over again.

Smile Anyway, it's my first post here. Everyone on this site is really helpful. Appreciate any comments!

6 weeks is about the fastest you will get it back, but the norm right now seems to be 12 or so.

How anxious was I? I'm STILL anxious. Jump through one hoop and you'll only be waiting in the dark for the next thing. I'm beginning to get the sense that this is just how it's going to be...

Seoulnate - 12 weeks is the norm? I heard many teachers are going abroad to find teaching jobs since they're getting laid off in their native countries. Maybe that's why it's taking so long.

TeaTime - What is your status these days regarding Korea? You make it sound like things regarding Korea can be uncertain :S. I'm curious about your experience..

Thanks for answering, everyone.

Though I sent in my CBC, I do have another route that might get it done faster for me. My previous job was working as a Taekwondo instructor on an air force base, and they're doing a National Agency Check on me, which entails a Criminal Background Check. I told the lady that's doing it to see if they can get the special seal and signature of the division officer that runs my background check and for them to send me that copy as soon as they do it. Has anyone ever gone this route? I'm crossing my fingers she can get this done for me ASAP.

I dunno. I always wanted to teach in Korea forever, and all of a sudden I changed my plans and am really going after it. Unfortunately, waiting for this stuff is a KILLER.

I got mine in 6 weeks but that was in 2010.

You'll be lucky to get yours back in 10 now.

Takes about 8-12 weeks to get the FBI check from the FBI.

Waited 9 weeks only to find out today that my fingerprints were not able to be read. Eddy, at the CJIS customer service line PH (304) 625 5590, says that this calling a representative or congressman to have the process expedited "should not work". Things that make you go hmmmm?

I read that on another forum too, contact your congressman. I would think gov people have better things to do than help an individual. Its not like we're giving them donations or votes.
