There was a Lotte brand ("Alaska Salmon"?) that was widely available but seemed to get canned (thank you) about a year ago, haven't seen it or any other type since.

Probably best to eat fresh.

Yeah, it's gone from Costco. Kind of sucks. The Lotte stuff when I could find it didn't seem much good. It was white. Who ever heard of white salmon? Anyways, check Lotte Mart, Home Plus. You can find the big frozen salmons. I buy a big one frozen. Thaw it, cut it into portion sizes, put them into ziploc bags and re-freeze. Later, cook some rice, fry a piece of salmon, eat some raw vegetable as a side. Viola, a healthy meal. (Sometimes add some seaweed wrap too.)

Isn't there an old P.T. Barnum story about him selling white salmon with the line "guaranteed never to turn pink?"

That man could sell anything.

Get the Kirkland individually wrapped frozen salmon. It's a bit pricey, but you can take one out of the freezer to thaw, put a little lemon pepper and olive oil on it to bake (or just bake plain) and add to some rice or salad for a healthy meal.

At the Homeplus Express in my apt complex they have a few different kinds of frozen salmon, plus smoked salmon. Not too pricey, either.

Thawing and refreezing a previosly frozen meat or fish product is never a good idea.

You can potentialy get very ill.

Just pay the extra money and order the already portioned salmon pieces from Costco.

+1; just buy a large fresh one, slice it up and freeze it individually in small-sized ziplock bags. Or individually wrap them using plastic wrap (which is hard cuz they're pretty slimy) and put them in a large ziplock bag and put them in the freezer. That seems to work for me. It cost about 40,000 won but if sliced properly can create about 15 pieces, which is well worth the price. [Invite people over and charge them 4 bucks a piece...you can make your own live-in restaurant ^^]
