Why are you even entertaining the idea of him getting 300,000? Let's see, he could move into a goshiwon, collect 300,000 each month like a person on welfare and pay 150-200,000/month to stay in the goshiwon. Sounds like a plan, NOT. |

Send him to jail. He most probably has his assets in the name of a family member. Hogwon owners often do this when they play the don't pay the employees game. It's a scam/con to make big bucks off their employees. I know of a crook who does this. He has nothing in his name, but he lives in a big apartment in a top neighborhood, his wife drives, a new luxury SUV, etc. He keeps all of his assets in his wife's name. He did this because a few years ago someone was going to take him to court and he was concerned there would be a freeze on his assets.
Send him to jail. It's the only chance you will ever have to get your money. |

| Koreatimes (in CHINA), this person mentioned in her original post that this was her ex boss, so maybe she will be around while she's working a job and living in a decent place to collect a substantial portion of what she's owed - even if it takes a very long time to do so. I am interested in her outcome and ability to get what she's owed. I didn't post on her thread to go around with you about goshiwons and welfare. Seriously, the interesting and helpful stuff you occasionally post is buried by the junk you throw up. I'm not gonna argue with you about anything, any time. I am interested in her situation and outcome, not yours. |

I understand that. The teacher at best can get their 5 million (without interest) if they continue to work in Korea. What if the teacher didn't or doesn't work or want to work 5 million/300,000 months (16.5 months at least)?
All these "could" statements are getting tiresome. We put in the work already, now pay us.

You are giving bad advice. We should not have to work a 2nd and into a 3rd contract to collect on the 1st contract. What if the second and third hagwons do the same thing? This exponentially grows to living in Korea just to collect on unpaid wages. This is not junk I am throwing up. I am seeing it out and telling you it is not wise to collect on only 6% of money owed to you.

Yea, that's a naive way to look at it. A hagwon owner, still in business by the looks of it, paying the expenses to stay in business, has a place to stay, paying those expenses, and paying family expenses. However, he doesn't have money for a teacher's salary?
If the teacher taught their 25 classes a week, money was coming in some way.
So basically, NO, he definitely was not or is bankrupt. He is hiding his assets. Next, he will be hiding the same thing without the "ets". |

No assets to his name, can't come up with 5 mil, and owns a business? Smells like a load to me, and he more than likely shifted his assets to someone else. Tell him you're sending him to jail if he doesn't pay what's owed, and give him a deadline. Otherwise, you're going to wait for the money anyway, and I doubt you'll want to stay in the country after this. You'll end up waiting for over a year for 5 mil. Personally, I'd write that 5 mil off, given the unreliability of where it's coming from, and penalize him as much as possible for conning you. |

| It's all about 'face' if you let him off easy you won't get anything, you have to make sure everyone knows he was wrong, and to do that you should take him to court. |

More like 2 people have said the same stuff over and over again and I clarified with patience at first. I addressed their illogical reasoning and misinformation, and finally refer them to look back.

| How does he get to work? In a car? He can sell that. Computers at the school? Sell those? If I was facing jail time I would beg, borrow, and steal to avoid going to the big house. He can do the same. We already know he's ok with the stealing part. |
