My first apartment was worse than that.

As was mine. I had green mold on the walls and lived in an University dorm. There are worse apartments out there.

Are you talking monthly? Because if so, those are some bargains! Razz

I've got to agree with the others if the rest of the job is good just take it. If not keep looking, you will be the one squeezed in there for the year. I live in Seoul too and my apt is 3x the size.

I could opt for a housing allowance, which is 300,000. But I'm not already there and this would be seem difficult, especially since key money would not be covered.

It's on the smaller side but it is not unusual.

you wont be getting anything better for 300,000. Hell, in Seoul, you would be lucky to get something better for 500,000 a month + key money.

It is small, but it is not atypical for a large chain Hakwon to stick their teachers in places like that.

Looks ok to me. Its smaller than the place my public school gave me, but it looks much nicer.

It's in Sillim, which is a district that I like because it's full of people, restaurants and other places to have fun. It's a lively area.

The apartment might be a little small, but it looks very clean and new. I think overall this is not a bad apartment at all. I hope the bathroom is clean, too. Not bad at all!
