Hey,

Did a search but some of the the threads were old so said I'd start a new thread.

Want to watch Premier League games on tv. And movies.

What channels show games with English commentary?
What packages have these channels and some movie channels?
IHow much are they per month?
How many other English language channels are on the packages?

Two channels (that I know of) show EPL games. The main one is SBS-ESPN.....they will show all the big games live with Korean commentary.

The other is Star Sports. They will show repeats (not sure if they ever show games live) with English commentary.


Both are available with certain configurations of the KT-Olleh-Skylife HD package.

Depending on which package you get, it's from 40-something to 60-something won per month.

I have the above at a premium 65,000 won pm package and I'm never short of English content. Lots of movie, documentary, news and entertainment channels in English. Plus of course the two channels showing EPL!! Lots. More than you need.

Skylife is your best bet. Star Sports DOES show games live though SBS-ESPN gets to air the big games like those involving ManU and Chelsea.

Also, Skylife airs the S.E. Asian feed of Star Sports, which is different from the channel aired on Korean cable. I remember the Community Shield was aired on Skylife's Star Sports but not on Star Sports on cable.

Skylife just added Eurosport HD, which I think doesn't air live soccer and has little interesting content, but has a few live sporting events here and there (I saw parts of the China Open live on this channel).

Just for the record, SBS-ESPN also has the rights to the SPL (or Celtic games, at least) and sadly due to the presence of Korean players in Celtic they don't always show the big EPL games if they conflict with a Celtic match (against some crap Scottish village team arrgh) unless there's a Korean player in the EPL match (notably last season I remember being greatly annoyed when they didn't broadcast Manchester City vs Chelsea for this reason).

Also, the other week, Manchester City vs Everton was scheduled but they ended up broadcasting some Korean national team basketball game instead. Somehow I suspect if it had been Man Utd playing they wouldn't have done this.

Star sports also shows most of the games. Most of the bars in itaewon use it

So, I wonder what's the cheapest package that has both SBS-Espn and Star Sports?

60k seems a bit much for me to spend on tv each month. Was hoping for around 30k..
