I'd go for komerican in that category.

How about the best troll? I know the trolls make extra work for the mods, but some of them are ridiculously funny. If not, how about best handle? Or poster most likely to go postal (in a Columbine kind of way).

How about doing a 'Survivor' or 'Big Brother' style elimination ordeal.

Put 10 random posters in a poll and we'll all vote for who must do the first trial.......

......the first trial might be to sustain a 20-page grinder with Steelrails on how Korean food sucks.

Survive the trial and you live to fight another day!.......fail to respond before 20 pages are up and you get a permanent ban from the mods.

Think how much more visceral Dave's could be!

The second trial?.......a 15-page 'Mac vs PC' brain-melter against the Macheads in the Tech forum. Can't take another, 'Macs make me more productive' comment? Permanent ban. Sorry.

It will toughen up the newbies if nothing else.

Anyone in?

(Steelrails and Macheads please note that I kid with affection!)

We will start this relatively soon. I revised my proposals in a way that would recognize more posters on Dave's and added cateogories not related to people, but might help people on the forums. I will accept submissions soon. Don't send anything yet. Some have sent submissions. Don't do that yet.

After much thought here are the 10 categories, and some will not include people on Daves or people.

A: Persons to recognize:

1)A poster who should be recognized when it comes to visa issues related to Korea and labor issues in-country.

2) Two posters who should be recognized when it comes to visa related issues in your home country (Canada), (US), (South Africa), Ireland, UK. (Lots of people are helpful)

3)The funniest poster.

4)The nicest poster.

5)Two posters amongst the most knowledge about things Korean whether its related to Korean linguistics, culture, history etc.

6)Two notable writers in Korea writing about expat and/or Korean affairs (and name the paper or blog). The person can be an expat, Korean, or of another nationality. If its some commercial type blog or trying to promote some particular business, your submission regarding number 5 wont be accepted.

B: Places to go to:

[color=red]1)Favourite/favorite museums (and where) in Korea. Give some reasons why. Some comments may be included. Name up to two. Mention two at most.

2)Favourite/favorite shows or festivals in Korea (where). Mention two at most.

3)Favourite restaurants. (two) give location.

4)Favorite two foreign stores

5)Favourite pub in Korea (two). Give location.

6)Favourite tourist spots in Korea. (two). Why?

I hope some like this better.

Then, we'll finish it off with a public poll of how often you

Eamo, I had a very good laugh at this one and read it twice. I am glad people enjoyed this one. The poster above you had a point when he said this reminded him of high school, and I took that to heart and decided to change the categories to include a way to recognize people who deserve it while also letting people know newbies and vets what places people tend to like in Korea and why.

What do you think?

We can't supersize anyone's whopper or fries and care too much for their health to do that.Smile We can't bestow knighthood on the nominees, either. What do they get? Your adulation, appreciation.

In all seriousness, which categories do you find useful, users?
