Thinking about getting a galaxy tab to read pdf's. Anyone have any experience with them? I'm in grad school and dislike reading pdf's on my computer but don't want to waste the paper printing hundreds of pages a week.
If not a galaxy tab, any other reasonably priced tablets that has a decent sized screen and allows annotations? |

These days, all tablets are able to read pdf files. you just need to find the right size you like to read on. most people are okay with 7 inch. why not invest in one of the new kindles. |

You can get the Acer A500 from 11st.co.kr for right around 400'000won. I love it. No 3G, but I've got a wireless network in my house where I use it 95% of the time, so no trouble.
The default PDF viewing program isn't so hot, (Lumiread I think? It works fine for ePubs) but there are a number of good, free ones available. I downloaded "PDF to Go" or some such, and it works great.
I've mainly used mine as an eReader and for some web-browsing. The only problem I have with it as such is that even at the lowest brightness setting, it's still a bit too bright at night. And like the reviews say, the screen really is a fingerprint magnet and very glossy. Good luck getting a freaking 10 inch screen protector on (a matte one would really help!) I ended up crumpling mine up and biffing it in the trash out of frustration. |
