| is it possible to return a plane ticket bought by your school? not exchange, mind you, but return at the airport for money? i apologize if this question is retarded, i really don't know the answer. |

Probably not. At best I think they might reschedule. Why, do you plan on going to another school but still want the flight home money?  |

Who bought the ticket? Many airlines have policies in place that make sure only the purchaser of the ticket can receive the refund for it. It prevents people using airline tickets as a method of payment between two parties across borders or something like that.
(many) Public schools now require you to email/fax them a copy of your used boarding pass before they process your payment. They are trying to avoid paying teachers extra money who don't use the flight ticket.
What kind of ticket is it? Not every ticket is refundable. In fact most aren't (like the ones you buy off Expedia usually), and the ones that are refundable are very expensive.
Even if you do reschedule, most airlines will require you to pay a change fee, and whatever the difference is of the new ticket. So be ready for that if you go that route. |
