I had mine earlier today via webcam. It wasn't too bad to be honest. The interviewer was a little hard to read as far as gauging his responses to things. The only thing that I didn't know was that we won't be told at all what province we will be working in until we arrive in Korea which is I guess a new policy for this application window.

That's nasty but they can only do that to an extent since they had what 2/3 different locations for orientation last year so you would have a vague clue where you are going depending on which location you are asked to go to.

Why do you reckon some people have Skype interviews and some don't? Mine is scheduled for Weds too but I've been told it's over the phone. Maybe I'll keep my Skype on anyway...

I have heard that they prefer skype. I haven't had skype for a year or so and right now I even lack a computer, so mine was over the phone. Frankly I like that better... I was sooo nervous, the hand holding the phone got a little sweaty Embarassed

But I think it went well, guess I'll find out ina few days!

Daaang, I didn't hear anything like that. Stinks. I think they're supposed to be hard to read... mine seemed pretty upbeat and cheery in general though, which was nice. Things flowed fairly smoothly.

Posting 3 times in a row, yay for me... derp.

I just wanted to share a link I used to prep for my interview

http://www.no-kancho.net/epik/

Some things repeat but it seems to cover a goodish portion of what I was asked. Mine was about 45 minutes

Thanks for that, I'm spending my day looking at possible interview questions! I have Skype and supplied them with my ID but apparently they're calling me instead...I'm OK with that seeing as I really can't be arsed with the idea of putting makeup on at 5.30am.

Is not telling you where you're placed a new policy for this year? It seems kind of unfair at first but then I suppose there's no reason for them not to...with the decrease in positions I can't imagine anyone turning down a job because it isn't their first choice of location and there doesn't seem to be much difference in weather throughout the country so it wouldn't cause any major packing issues. Odd though...

Well some people might turn down rural position if they wanted to just be in a city. Maybe that's why they have changed the options on the application form.

Good point. I'd rather work in a city but I'd be happy to take a job anywhere really...I wonder whether they'll end up with a higher drop-out rate this year owing to nobody knowing where they're going?

Who knows maybe not since the economy is still shit in the UK at least. I think you can specify on your application that you will only accept a Metro Province position.

I *think* the subject access request is still acceptable, but takes longer to get sent out to you. It'll also show literally ANY information the police have, including cautions, although thats probably not an issue for most people anyway.

Disclosure is quicker but a bit more expensive i think...

Thansks for the quick reply. Thats exactly as I remember it a year ago.

I think i am pretty much the only person in my boat as a former SMOER ive been told to apply directly to the head guy. It seems people are applying a lot earlier this time round.

That is interesting. My girlfriend and I applied for three cities (Daejeon, Daegu, and Ulsan). I could live with a rural area (I grew up next to a corn field between a town of 1600 next to a town of 400), but she is from Chicago and I can't see her liking be stuck in a small area. I guess we will wait and see.
