Hello!
I was wondering if anyone has worked at 7s English Hakwon. Please share your experience! |

do a search in the forum and all you get is negative review on these guys (the one in Bundang), actually, let me save you the trouble and summarize from what I heard (former teachers, Korean and Foreign)
- the 's' stands for sweatshop, they work you from 1:30 to 10:00 plus meetings that are held before and after work WITHOUT overtime pay
- it seems the contract is just a guideline, they will not stand by their contract - they tried to screw one teacher from his severance with some very lame excuse, quickly fold when lawyer and labor board were mentioned
- they have not been paying their teachers pension, couple of the Korean employees confronted management and they just laugh at them
- you have 10 vacation days, set and given by them, if you're lucky, they'll give you half of that
- the director, Donald Park, is notorious in the Hagwon Association in Bundang, they all think he's crazy and just plain bad, they all felt sorry for any teachers working there
- management are a bunch of hypocrits who only critizes your work and put unneccessary burden
if you do get an interview, see if they can put you in contact with some former employees |

Wow. I actually did get an interview and he offered me a position. I declined it because of the working hours but I've been thinking if I made a wrong choice. Hmm... |

Scary, scary place. The employees are divided into two groups: those who fall over themselves to kiss the owners butt and those who are just trying to finish their year of indentured servitude so they can get out of this hellhole.
Yeah, this place is the bottom of the barrel. |

You might've just dodged the bullet.
To be fair, I do not know the place personally, but I know some of the former employees (foreign and Korean) and from what they have told me, run, dont walk, away.
you declined because of the work hour, I can guarantee you that whatever they told you, you would be working longer than that (extra work and meetings - which you wouldnt be paid overtime for).
