Not the meat as this is not Xinjiang in China, but I just bought a pack of Camel Lights at a GS Mart (they have lights and filters, 2500 a pack, 200 won cheaper than Mild Seven, score!).
It seems as if the nicotine and tar content is the same as the blue pack Camels in South Africa (these actually say lights on them, like the gool old days).
So far it seems that it is only GS Mart that is selling them. |

Have you tried one yet?
Camel 'blues' from the usa are the most delicious cigarette I have ever tasted. In the usa they are actually called 'blues.'
Are they 'blues' like the us ones or 'lights like you get in the uk?'
Either way, the lights aren't bad either, but not as nice as my dunhill lights imo. The 'blues' have this fantastic almost chocolately aftertaste on the exhale, such a joy.
OBTW - there is a store on the corner of itaewon street near gekkos who sell 'blues' for 6k won a pack lol. Me and a mate tried them and we both agreed they were fakes. Very nasty flavor and made us hack. Had chinesew writing all over them pack. Be careful buying tobacco in that place, if you ask me. |

They don't have the strong 'Turkish' smell like those back home, and I don't think I've tried the actual American ones, was buying them when I was in London though, still not entirely sure how they all compare in the end.
They're not bad, I'll leave it to others to decide as I'm slightly clogged up today after battling hordes of mosquitoes until 5:30am this morning. |

I've also seen Lucky Strikes being sold at various stores around-- I thought they were going to be authentic, but no.......More like LS lights, at best...Tried one and they tasted no better than a This/This Plus (blaahhh)
Anyone know if these Camels are made in Korea? Same nasty aftertaste as most K-smokes? |

| Sorry to go slightly off topic but I've been looking for a smoke here that is kind of equivalent to an L&B Silver of Embassy Regal in the UK. Anybody know of one that might be somewhat similar in strength? I've been smoking the Marlboro Lights here and they're just not cutting it. |

Marlboro 27s, Smooths, and the Camel Turkish Blends (Royal, Gold, Jade) are some fondly missed smokes. Kent too.
I miss working next to a smoke shop. I could go down and try some random smoke or get a nice cigar. Fail on this Korea.
Some RYO would be nice to have too...anyone know any place that sells RYO? |

Problem with the rollies here is that, technically, the papers are illegal.
That said, I have seen an odd pouch or two in COEX and Lotteworld malls, at some smoke stands selling mostly pipe tobacco and cigars. Dried out tobacco and no papers. The guy thought it was pipe tobacco all along, even when it clearly said "handrolling tobacco' on the packaging
The smoke shop in the Hamilton Hotel shopping 'mall' on the 2nd floor usually has some-- black market stuff from the base, overpriced at 15,000 won/pouch (!!!!). Bali Shag and (fake, US-produced) Drum (made by TOP), not the original Dutch one. Not sure about Samson. Rolling papers cost extra, at 7,000 for the small ones!!! A ripoff, but you asked...
Finally, last time I left Korea, I found a really good deal at Incheon Duty Free-- Greek rolling tobacco (Karelias brand), but also no papers-- but at $22 for a box of 10 pouches of 25 grams, I stocked up on 2 boxes and bought papers at my destination and returned back with all of it. Still enjoying them after 2 months of being back!! |

| When I was in Japan I smoked Mild Sevens. Once I came back to America, I smoked Camel Lights (Now Blues). Mild Sevens are much better. I don't know why anyone would pick Camels (which are the best cig in the US imho) over Mild Sevens. |

Turkish Golds are probably the only smoke that might compete with Mild Seven for my affections. |

The pack says 'Made In Germany'; I think that's a city in GyeongSangNamDo.
They definitely do not have the same harsh smell as Camels in other countries, perhaps someone can correct me if they do. |
