| On Epik site, they're saying you need Federal apostille. Is that the new rule for 2012? So starting in 2012, you can't get state apostille on FBI cbc anymore? Is that just for recruiters or for Korean immigration. Its kind of confusing. |

As far as I know they have always requested a federal apostille on the CBC.
Nothing new there. |

| I just checked the EPIK website under application documents regarding the criminal background check and it says that the apostille agency would be the Secretary of State or Department of State. Where does it say it needs to be federal apostille? |

They are cheap, but be careful. I found another site for $45 US Legalization and I was skeptical because other places charge a lot more. The lady in the review said they threaten to throw her documents away for calling, WTH. Also, there are the same people on this site that recommend the same site, you have to wonder if they work for the company. There's this guy named Kepler - he always mention US Legalization or US Authentication, he mentioned their names like 5-6 times or any chance he gets, I wonder if he get a kick back from the companies. I called US Legalization and US Authentication it seem like the same company, but different addresses. The best thing to do is google search their names and type in reviews. Yelp Reviews for US Legalization: http://www.yelp.com/biz/us-legalization-annapolis
US Authentication reviews: http://local.yahoo.com/info-71550902-us-authentication-services-alexandria
It's better just to go to the local Secretary of State and do it for a lot cheaper and faster.

Are they trustworthy? It says it's only $45. If it is trustworthy maybe I will regret letting all of you know about it. |

| Thank you for the info. Problem is--my Secretary of State doesn't do federal apostilles. |

Joined the forum a few days ago and already trying to discredit apostille services that are not Apostille Pros.... A familiar pattern... How's business? |

| I just got my CBC back from us authentication services and will be sending it to korea tomorrow -- I'll be sure to let ya'll know how it's received. I thought it was my only option because I went to the Massachusetts secretary of state and they said, unequivocally, that I had to send it to D.C. They even had a nice print out to give me of the apostille FAQ page from the FBI website in case I hadn't understood them. I considered taking a bus to NYC since it sounds like people have had luck there, but was worried about spending all the time + money to get there and back only to be rejected again. Anyhow, I surely hope usauthentications is legit. It would royally f-up my life if they send it all back. |

The Missouri Secretary of State office said today it does apostille FBI checks if notarized, but I'm unclear if this satisfies Korean immigration even though some of you were fine with this while another thread said EPIK will not accept a state level apostille.
Can anyone point us to the immigration page outlining what Korean immigration over in Korea requires when a school or recruiter submits our documents? Thanks |

You hope it's legit? If you've gotten it back, you should already know if it's legit because you'd have an apostille fixed to your CBC by the DOS. |

I would only get a State apostille if your pressed for time. Otherwise why not wait for the federal apostille. |

Right. I'd like to start around December 1st if the right job comes up, but I'm really eager to have already been gone a while back as it just plain sucks for me back home. |

| Why not be safe and order 2 FBI CRCs? Get the first with the federal official's signature. When that comes back send it to DC. A couple of weeks after ordering the first, order a second without the signature. Get it notorized by a notoriy in your state. Send that copy to your state. I bet you will get the one from your state quicker even if it was ordered later. If your state will not do it for you, try taking it to a nearby state and have it notorized and apostilled there. |

So how much did US Authentication cost in the end? I read that they have hidden fees and don't seem trustworthy. |

OK, so what exactly do I do?
I have been to two sites. One said 33 dollars and one said 18 dollars. What is the address I use to send my fingerprints? Do I make 2 copies? Can I print the form on reguar paper or do I use card stock?
I just left Korea last month and want to go back in March. I am really confused. |
