I was hired by a school and had my visa issued to me. I was all set to go and my departure was delayed by a death of a close relative. I explained to the school that I needed to wait for a short time. However, it appears the position was filled by a teacher already in Korea.

My question is: is that visa still valid? Can it be used at another school within a reasonable time frame?

If anyone can post some (if any) of my options, etc., it would be much appreciated.

Thanks. Smile

I very certain since you did not come over - it is void. I think you will have to start all over from scratch. See if you can get your paperwork back from the school.

Your visa is NOT good for use with another employer.
Your ONLY option is to wait for it to expire (90 days from date of issue unless you are American) then start all over again.

IF you are American then you get to wait for a year till it expires - look for another country in the meantime.

Really - one year for the Americans! Poor girl, even 90 days can be difficult!

I am American. Since I have been issued a visa once, can I get it renewed in, say, Japan once it expires? Also, if it is good for a year, would that employer theoretically be able to "hire" be again on the same visa within the year?

Thanks for the answers.
