I called immigration and they told me that since I already submitted a notarized diploma and a notarized Criminal Background Check (I'm Canadian), that all I need to transfer my E-2 is a letter of release from my current employer. I called immigration three times about this, actually.

My future employer, on the other hand, doesn't believe me. They demand that I get my diploma notarized again and a brand new Criminal Background Check (despite me never having left the country since I submitted the last one). I begged them to call immigration and ask but they won't. They're sending me to get another medical today.

Any way I can convince them? I went to immigration and got copies of all my documents and the future employer said they were fine but that they wanted me to get them all again anyway.

Seems like your new employer has their own set of rules about what documents they require from their employees.
