|
|
Ive been here two years and now I need to get a copy of my degree cert apostled.
It has a solicitors stamp on it to say it is a true copy of the original.
I was hoping i could send it back home to my friend in England and he could get it aposlted for me then post it back here .
Where exactly would he take it/send it to get it aposlted (or where would I go if i went home). Is it the same place as the CRB (milton keynes) or can you take it to other places?
I have no clue.
Please help.
Thanks very much |

Yes, FCO in Milton Keynes for the Apostille. However they are not open to the public anymore, (meaning you can't go in with your docs and get them done on the day) you have to post your docs to them. Or get your friend to post them for you I guess. |

well you could also use one of the satellite services that take your document, send it to the fco and charge you 2x the price?
i put my docs in the 1st class post to the FCO on monday, yesterday they confirmed by email that they'd been processed and dispatched, i should get them today or tomorrow.
read some comments from american posters trying to get their epik docs together, between disclosure scotland and the fco we have it made... |

thanks, I was wondering about that. I was going to mail one of American companies tonight to see what the craic was.
Youve just given me a glimpse of hope!
By the way, anyone reading this. You can get your CRB apostled in the honarary Brit consulate in Busan I think (if youre British). But not the degree cert. |

photocopy or scan your original and take it to your solicitor and have him stamp it and sign.
What the Koreans are trying to say is they need an apostle 'of' your original document, no one is going to have a bullshit stamp on their degrees. |

I'd just get a friend to take a copy of your degree certificate to a solicitors in the UK (dont bother spending all that money on a registered notary public, not necessary), get them to sign in, print there name and address too so its clear and a stamp. I've had the FCO reject a document for just having a stamp and a signiture, they have to be able to identify the person who signed the document.
It only cost me a fiver to get them to do that, then just get your friend to post it to the FCO (you can even apply online and pay, just get your friend to post a print out of the application). Cost's 30 for one document and 6 for a fedex return. Then get your friend to post it out to you, shouldn't take too long. Although it alway helps to make a friendly note on the FCO application that you need it urgently, it usually speeds things up so should only take a few days really.
I've done this many many times now unfortunately so if you need any help feel free to PM me.
Hope that helps! |
