http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2050922/British-beauty-queen-Amy-Willerton-fled-international-pageant-sex-bribes.html?ito=feeds-newsxml
A British beauty queen told yesterday how she fled an international pageant after being groped by officials and offered votes in exchange for sex.
Amy Willerton, 19, quit the Miss Asia Pacific World contest in South Korea after three 'shambolic' day, claiming that she was sexually assaulted by organisers and sponsors, invited to give sexual favours to secure votes and fed just one meal per day.
When she reported the corruption to police she was stunned to see officials openly bribing local officers with cash.
After arriving home Amy was disgusted to learn that the eventual winner of the 12,700 first prize was none other than the local entrant, Miss South Korea.
She said today: 'It was absolutely horrendous. 'I had two of the organisers sexually assault me - one tried to pull my top down. When we posed with sponsors they also tried to stick a hand somewhere inappropriate.
'Girls were pulled aside and told they knew what they had to do if they wanted to win - we all knew they meant sex.
'When we complained we were told that we would have no chance of winning if we carried on.
We called the police but I then saw one of the competition chairmen pull out his wallet straight away when they arrived.'I was petrified but more than anything I thought I had to get control of the situation just and get out of there.'
Amy appears in the Sky Living show 'Signed By Katie Price' in which the glamour model searches for new talent.
She was contacted by the organisers of Miss Asia Pacific World online and signed a contract assuring her that all expenses would be paid.
But things went wrong from the moment she stepped off the plane in Seoul on 3 October when organisers refused to pay for her 600 flight as promised.
She was then horrified to discover her hotel room did not even have a bed.
Amy, who is single, said: 'There was just a blanket on the floor. I put up with it for two nights but then complained and they moved me to another hotel.
The next thing I knew we weren't being fed - they only gave us one meal per day. They would say things like 'we cannot give you lunch because we haven't been paid for it'.'
After three days in Seoul, the group of 50 beauties were taken to the city of Daegu for the next stage of the competition.
By this time allegations of corruption and bribery were sweeping around the models and several had complained of being sexually assaulted and harassed.
The final straw came when an optional 'talent' round was won by Miss Venezuela - who had not even entered that section of the competition.
She said: 'We were putting up with so much and realised there was no way we were going to win anyway.
'A lot of the girls wanted to win the 12,700 prize money, but were told they could only do it if they did favours.
'They basically relaid to me that 'I know what I can do for you - what can you do for me?'
'I decided to leave. I ordered a tracking service from the UK to make sure I got back okay.
'The organisers said to me they would take my luggage in a different car - but I refused because I didn't trust them.
'I made it back alright, but two of the other girls who wanted to leave had their bags confiscated. I was so relieved to get home.'
She arrived home to Horfield, Bristol, on October 14 and says she is 1,000 out of pocket after having to book a new flight home.
Amy claims that two other girls who also fled, Miss Guyana and Miss Costa Rica, had their bags confiscated in an attempt to prevent their escape.
She has since heard of other contestants being locked into their hotel after refusing to pay bills for their accommodation.
Most of the girls have now returned from the competition - won eventually by South Korean contestant Park Sae Byul.
Amy is now looking to launch legal action against the competition organisers.
In emails to her one of them admitted the competition had been a 'shambles'. |

Welcome to the entertainment business in Korea.
She should feel lucky she isn't an aspiring local singer or actress. |

| I am not at all surprised at this. Anyone who knows about Korean men and Korean society would never allow a beauty pageant in Korea. Come on apologists, make me laugh.. |

Come on, now. She should've done the proper research incuding calling past beauty pageant contestants in Korea and getting pictures of the accomodations.
She should've also went through the proper legal channels, filed a complaint with the labor board and continued with the contest instead of pulling a runner and depriving watchers of her beauty. Think of the money people paid for the tickets. |

"Amy Willerton, sat far right at the Miss Asia Pacific pageant, held in Hanbok in South Korea, says officials tried to prevent her from leaving the show."
Text under a photo in the article. Apparently they mistook Hanbok to be the name of a city. |

maybe they used a hanbok as some sort of restraining device. |

| The KT headlined with: "7 female foreign students arrested for selling sex", but this story, which is clearly much larger, is strangely absent. |

Miss Asia Pacific?
British.. Venezuelan.. etc. what the what?
and... yeah, not surprised! Appalling behavior happens everywhere, seemingly here a lot. Korea's breeding a nation of, dare I say, whores? Whether they do it here, or abroad, it's kind've shocking... but swept under the table when the issue is brought up.
It's funny when the girls who work out the countless places of prostitution don't consider themselves prostitutes/whores, they only count the girls at RLD's that... again, what the what? |

| They should've made some inquiries in Dave's Korean Job Discussion Forum before ever deciding to come to Korea. |

Something should be done about this. Look at how they are abusing our women.
We need to become vigilant as these organizers are the scum of the earth. Who knows what diseases they have. And most likely they will spread it around and infect our children.
We should start up a website, like Anti-Korean Pageant Organizers (AKPO). Yeah and we can say that all Koreans are like this and people will believe us and governments will enact laws because of what we claim.
But seriously, these kind of pageants are run similar to all around the world. Korea is no different. And for a girl/young lady to think anything differently is kidding themselves.
Why would someone degrade themselves for such a tasteless enterprise. Of course money is a factor. But really, if you had a daughter, would you want them to be paraded around like cattle which is what these events are designed for.
It is not for them, it is for the men watching to fantasize about being with them and basically control them by holding a candy over their head and say: hey if you do this you will get this.
I have more respect for women who say this is how much it is and this is what you get, rather than this disguised attempt of legitimacy which is really prostitution. |

Excellent sir!
So there you have it folks. We have an insider who knows everything about running these shady pageant.
How would some of the newbies thousands miles away know if the new hagwon boss is not running a tasteless enterprise? |

Go read this long post about it:
http://www.criticalbeauty.com/Miss_Asia_Pacific_World_2011_Scandal.html
A poster earlier said to check out pics of accommodations beforehand . . . if you look at the four hotels they were supposed to use, they're all pretty nice. But the organizer wrote in an email, reprinted on that post:
| Quote: |
2. Seoul Committee blocked 30 twins to Hotel Imperial Palace, but they did not pay until 1 week delegates arrival, disappeared, accordingly cancelled. At the same cancelled day, i called hotel, but no rooms due to peak season, i find only 10 rooms. From that day, we tried to find hotels all over Seoul, i found only suit rooms at Hotel Intercontinental, and the price per room was USD1, 000 per suite room. We could not accommodate with this price, and divided Imperial Palace and Resort that makes a lot of complaints.
3. Daegu Committee blocked 30 twins at Hotel Interbulgo for 6 nights and conducted Talent Competition jointly National Costume. They did not pay production fee, hence no rehearsal, the Show was delayed. I paid production fee, the show started after 1 hour than scheduled time. The result was terrible, mess, no judgement to award. For example, Miss Puerto Rico get award for Europe Award, Miss Venezuela was a model for Miss Estonias talent fashion show, she award Talent All delegates angry and upset as they prepared a lot for Talent, that is Super Talent Competition. When the girls were check out hotel on Oct 13th, to travel Busan where world final held, i knew the Daegu Committee did not pay hotel. They promised to pay hotel until 11 AM, but delayed, delayed, the first group 35 girls departed to Busan, the other 15 girls could leave 4PM, after i paid USD30,000 for hotel and banquet dinner for Oct 11th Competition. 1 delegate went to her home country, 2 delegate called me to pay 20,000 usd each, then stay here to world final, the reason was due to lack of service and professionalism, but i could not promise the fund right away, the 2 girls went to home on Oct 13th. |
It's as much about perverted and corrupt officials as it is organizers in way over their heads. Reminds me a little of when they used to house SMOE teachers in Dongdaemun stadium, or all the problems with the Korean Grand Prix last year. |
