The easiest way is to go to Naksapyeong, cross the pedestrian bridge to the hill, and hang a right when you get to the other side. Petra is just up the hill on your left (the main road is at your right). Those directions should make sense if you're familiar with the area, but might be a bit confusing otherwise. |

How to get Petra? Well, do you know where the KEB is opposite of the McDonald's? I am sure you do.
1)From the KEB go up this incline past some shops and restaurants.
2)Keep walking toward HBC, the Noksapyeong area and close to where there is a bridge.
3)Look up. Petra is on the second floor. It's close to the end of the incline to where you can see the used book store, and it is before a car dealership.
Again, up the incline that is sort of opposite of the McDonald's. Walk up there and keep going away from Itaewon and look up and you'll see it. |

Yeah, I'm sold on the burgers and plain fries (interesting texture) but not so much on the other stuff I've tried or seen.
I did have a lone Pilsner there the other night and noticed that it was extremely good, better than I've come to expect. As long as they keep getting that part right the food is hardly the end of the world.
Everybody keeps raving about Petra's but I'm sorry, if as I heard it's a no-drinking establishment (not even wine?!?) then I have a hard time seeing myself going there except for lunch. I am a boozehound and need constant liquid nourishment.  |

My understanding was that it was BYOB, but that could have changed. I've only ever gone for lunch. |

Some of the places mentioned sound great. Will have to try to French place.
Here are my favorites:
Zelen - stuffed chicken or share a meat plate with a friend
Brazilian place (the orignial one on the back street behind KFC - love it
Holy Chow - pork or shrimp mushu wraps best thing on the menu
Evergreen - great buffet with samosas. Little expensive but worth it.
and for breakfast:
(in order of quality)
Flying Pan Blue
Suji's
Wolfhound
All American Dinner |

Those are great directions.
I should say that I've been twice and was not impressed at all.
The falafels tasted like they were right out of a frozen bag.
The humus, from a can.
Baba ganoush, really sub-par.
I've made better myself. Check it out. You might like it. |

| Honorable mention for Ho Lee Chow's shrimp mushu. It's the only thing I get there, but it's my favorite American-Chinese food. |

In no order of pref etc
1. Salam. Best Turkish food in Korea.
2. Royal Taj for Indian (main menu dishes, NOT BUFFET.)
3. Marakesh Nights (same as above - buffet sucks / menu dishes rock.)
4. Fat Richard's - their t-bone is amazing.
5. Taco chilli chilli - not teachnically in the twon but in hbc.
Busan galbi does the best sundooboo chiggae in itaewon and I've yet to have a decent Itallian meal in itaewon in 7 years.
Honorable mention to - La boca for their sandwiches (you wont go to subway again other than to save money,) Wolfhound for best cooked brekkie and Thai suki / Thai oyster (or whaever it's called if it's still there)for authentic thai food. Sujis for best christmas dinner I've had in Itaewon so far. Waffle factory for kick arse dessert and amazing ice cream! |

Sam Ryan's is right above 3 Alley Pub. If you go up the alley next to KFC and make a left when you reach the top, you'll see it on your right. |
