Totally confirmed. Anyone who is up for renewal in March should get the renewal documents soon if they haven't got them already. They were sent out to schools yesterday. It clearly says if you are at a high school and you apply for renewal you will be transfered to a middle or elementary school. Presumably the same thing will happen to the rest of them who are up for renewal in September, although I suppose no one can really confirm this yet. If you haven't gotten this info yet ask your co-teacher. If you intend to renew you must submit the application for renewal by October 31.

How many SMOE high school teachers are there? about 100?

7. High School NSETs
1) If you are currently a High School Teacher and pass your evaluations, you will transfer to a Middle or an Elementary school.
2) All High Schools teachers will transfer besides the following schools: 국제고, 과학고, 영어중점학교.

Does anyone have a translation of what those schools are?

Looks like... international, science, and English priority high schools.

Its not so much the budget as the curriculum change.

Kyunggi and Seoul have gone or are going away from co-teaching at the high school level.

If the school likes you and want to maintain languages as a priority, they will pay you out of their own pockets or up the tuition a tad for the students to pay for your salary.

They knew about this curriculum change since last year, but the budget cuts just made the choice easier.
