I know these topics get done up on here, and I've been doing my research, but I would like some clarification to put my mind at ease.

I've been at my current job for five months and found out last week that I was being let go at the end of this month. I never missed a day of work, was never late, and never received any written warnings. However, I clashed with the boss over my status as a Private Contractor (not mentioned in the contract), and I think it bit me back.

She's willing to provide a LOR and my apostilled documents (US) are on file at immigration. I think she just wants to do this quietly (pay me what's due and find someone who won't know better-- no mention of flight reimbursement or paying back recruiter fees), but I'm worried about other possibilities, as I do not currently have my new documents yet.

Sorry if any of the following rubs anyone the wrong way, but this is all coming at me fast, and I have a long week of work next week while I continue to pack up, find a new job, and figure the rest out.

1) So I get the LOR and find a new job, simple as that?

2) I'm the only western employee, so regarding the visa, will there be any overlapping pressure for her to cancel it (or something like that), because of the new guy? What if I don't find a job BY next week, and have to wait another week?

3) Is the under six-months thing an issue at all, other than simply looking bad to future employers?

4) Anything else I'm forgetting?

Thanks in advance.
