My employer has cancelled my E2 Visa. How long can I stay in Korea before I have to leave? I heard it was 14 days, but I was also told 30 days by some people. Thanks in advance!

Did you get fired too?

At the rate they're going, it's starting to look like I'll be the last teacher they have left...the final hope for English in Korea...until I pull a runner. Laughing

You have 14 days to report your change of status to immigration.

IF you do, they will give you 30 days from your last date of employment to find a new job and transfer or leave Korea.

If you don't report to Kimmi then you need to be out in the 14 days (or you will be in violation of immigration law for not reporting your change of status).

No I wasn't fired I quit.

I got a new job as an architect in Seoul. I was planning on leaving Korea to cancel my E2 then come back on a tourist visa. I can stay 6 months on my Canadian passport. So i just have to go to immigration to get a 30 day extension if i can't leave right away?

My old employer refuses to give me a LOR. Can i still go to immigration for the extension? Thanks
