| Another option is to do what I did with my Galaxy S (when I thought I was leaving and might not be back) and get a friend / Dave's guy to take over your contract. That way, you help out someone who might not otherwise get to have a phone (no ARC, etc.) and you get to upgrade for "free." Or leave the country. Whatever. |

Thanks for the advice and it's definitely something to consider in the near future. I'll be here for at least 2 more years so I don't expect to take a big hit on a contract of 3 years, if that's the way I decide to go.
The main problem is getting a phone that is somewhat future-proof and good value for money. As mentioned previously, I have an iPod Touch 4th Generation and it serves most of my needs besides being a phone! I'm aware that most smart phones have a poor battery life and would therefore look to use my touch for the more battery intensive activities.
This again presents a problem, as I should be getting a smartphone to cut down on my electronic devices and make my life simpler! |
