Less than two days to get the first offer.

Three weeks to choose which one of the offers I wanted.

Six weeks to sign the paperwork.

sigh... yeah, obviously there are less jobs around for two people at the same place. I guess we'll just have to be patient.

We are working with a recruiter who seems really reliable (although I still have my guard up) he is supposed to get back to us with a job offer by next Monday.

Keep your guard up. It won't do you any harm. If he finds you a job, tell him you want to speak, on the phone, to a teacher who is already in the school. If he says no, find a different recruiter. It is essential to always talk to someone who is there, either by phone or by email.

Happy hunting.
