It's amazing that they're still around. It's almost November, and I see one flying around in the office. It's a big one, too. No problems at home since I've plugged in that plug-in.
We should have a massive net in the office. I'll get the bugger. |

Call National Geographic...they will surely do a study on this possibly abnoral growth of what could be termed the "super mosquitos of asia". 
Now the question is: do these mosquitos discriminate and bite only foreigners???

All jokes aside, the buggers are annoying as heck! Buy a mosquito net, won`t regret it. |

lol mine does. She chases and kills mosquitoes, moths and fruit flies.
Best cure for mosquitoes = move above the 5th or 6th floor. Up here in the penthouse I think I had 1 in my apt all year! |

2 yrs ago was on the 9th floor and still had about 6 per night. That was Geumsan though and that place had more moggies than any city I've ever seen in Korea...
Wait a minute.... hold the press.... call nat geo..... Geumsan is the Ginseng capital of Korea...... mosquitos super powered by Korean red ginseng..... migrating.... taking.... over.... the wooooooorrrrllllld....! |

just killed another one in my apartment (which is on the 4th floor)
i also just got back from phuket thailand and to be expected they had a massive amount of mosquitos but they were all tiny and quick making them almost invisible. i feel a bit fortunate that the ones here in korea are big and slow because it makes killing them much easier. |

I read this thread yesterday and thought, seriously? I haven't seen a mosquito for weeks.
Of course immediately after that I went home and found the biggest one I've seen this year lurking in my bathroom.  |

| Killed one last night and another a few days ago. In the southern parts of the UK, the summer usually ends with 20 odd degrees in the day and 10-15 at night, which is when the mosquitos appear in your home. In Korea those temps occur in the autumn, so that's when all the Mogis start scrambling for your warm, cosy bedroom. |

What I really hate are the ones in my gym. They leave the windows open and have no screens so the place is crawling with 'em. I'll be in the middle of a set and have to drop the weights to slap at bugs. I HATE THAT.
...and I share the op's befuddlement. I was here in the late 90's and back then the bugs were all dead come late October. There's something up with these new all-year-round mosquitoes. |

This is real evolution happening right before our eyes. We are witnessing the mosquitos adapting to the changing environment.
Still 3 or 4 a day in my 2nd floor villa. But I've seen mosquitos using elevators too, so I'm not sure that moving high would prevent them from bothering you. |

One month later. They are still here. Killed two that were perched on my ceiling waiting for me to fall asleep last night. Woke up to find yet another one on the ceiling. Smashed it and of course, I ended up having to clean up my own blood off the wallpaper, which will always leave a stain anyway.
It's been freezing outside for at least a week. God/nature/science could at least give us the consolation of getting rid of the mosquitoes! |

These Korean mosquitoes are something. Last week, there were a few in the office, though it's been rather cold. Luckily, I didn't see any yesterday (11-24-2011). It looks like we'll be getting some relief from them in exchange for the cold. |

Unbelieveable.
Just opened up the window to let some fresh air in before leaving for work and one buzzed right in the instant the window was open! Up on the 6th floor too.
Massive bugger it was too.
