Hi all,

I have a problem: important interviews for my profession will be conducted at a conference in the USA in January. That sets up this dilemma:

1. I should probably buy the ticket now, in case I get interviews.

2. I might not actually get an interview, in which case, I will have to "eat" the ticket. Since a round-trip from Seoul goes for near $2,000 now, this would be absolutely heartbreaking.

Hence, my question: how does one find, or negotiate for, a refundable ticket, or a ticket that one can sell if it turns out to be unneeded? I'm assuming this option doesn't really exist. Usually when I buy online, it always says the ticket is exclusively for me and I can't get my money back.

Many thanks in advance!

Contact the airline directly and get an unrestricted ticket.
It won't be cheap but you can change, cancel or refund (service fees for refunds vary from $30-100) as necessary.

Under current rules, NO international tickets are transferable.

Many thanks, Ttompatz! I think I'll go for the unrestricted ticket, then. I'm trying to view it as a win/win situation: if I get job interviews, well that's great; if I don't, then at least I'll get the money back. Darn, though, $2K for this ticket is really going to kill me.
