So I was at my gym tonight and I was sitting in the break room downing my pre workout drink (Jack3d for the win) and flipping through a Korean muscle magazine.
I came across some ads that I have never seen before. Muscle beef (musclebeef.kr) are the packets of little meat balls that I guess some Korean bodybuilders and fitness buffs use. I can understand why. As someone that lifts weights a lot, I know it can be hard to find sources of protein unless you cook everything at home and take it with you. This is just not much of a meat eating culture. Too much rice and veg.
But I'm curious if anyone has tried this before. I'm so tired of cooking chicken breasts and hamburger steaks and taking them with me to work everyday. It'd be nice just grab one of these packets from the fridge and go.
Someone who reads Korean better than me check out the website and see if you can find a price or ingredient list.

Its pretty much exactly what you said. Cant testify about the quality or truthfulness of what they claim, but according to the site...
59,700 buys you 100gm units x 30 units (bags)
Says uses only 100% Australian and New Zealand beef (they make a note that it is sure to be "mad cow" safe beef), and vegetables only from Korea, to include onions, lettuce, green(spring) onions, garlic, and carrot.

A Korean friend gave me a packet of these and a couple individ packets of protein powder. The mini meat patties need to be heated, they're not supposed to be eaten directly from the packet. Not particularly tasty imo. Might as well look on iherb.com or somewhere else for a decent protein bar if you want variety or something on the go. |

Well it's better to get protein from whole food sources. I'm already using two scoops of whey powder and a recovery drink post workout, on top of a can of tuna and some source of red meat a day and still not getting enough. I could get a protein bar, but it's basically just whey powder pressed into bars.
The macros on the beef look good though. Its basically the exact same as my whey powder, except much fewer calories, but higher in sodium. Still, I think I'm going to give them a shot. Thankx |

This may be a bit OT but if you're looking for a source of lean protein I'd recommend Costco's frozen turkey burgers. 35g of protein per patty, 12 patties to a pack for 18k IIRC. Ready in 5 min on a George Foreman grill. Amazing with Japanese bbq sauce. |
