Just want to jump in here about something a little off topic, but mabe relevent to someone.
I have my own business, but I'm also funded by the Talk program to teach English at the local community center.
They pay me 30.000 won per 45 minutes, and the I have total autonomy.
Just a heads up to opportunities that do exist within the Talk program.

I have a study room, and no, Talk does not employ me directly, but rather the local Gu office applies for funds through the Talk program, which in turn transfers to me.

If you know anyone in local body politics, put your case forward. I know for sure that you can do it on an E-2 visa (with permission of course)[/quote]

I need some help from some TaLK or EpiK people who can maybe better elaborate on this for me:

I got this email from TaLK:

Your photo did not fit our criteria. Please upload a photo in *.jpg format that meets the following guideline:

1. Must be against a neutral (solid color) background.
2. A clear, full view of your face, facing the camera.
3. Must not crop out your shoulders or ears.

If you are having technical difficulties uploading the photo, please send it to the TaLK Office by email at [email protected] for direct assistance.

The picture I provided is a close up shot of me from a wedding I took a couple years ago. Like 99% of the pictures I have I have a drink in my hand or am at a club or just acting a fool with friends. What exactly is it they want? Like a mugshot? or a yearbook picture? If anyone can give me a link or something to a pic that fits what they are looking for I'd appreciate it...

Sounds like they want a passport photo, essentially, but with shoulders included.

Why would anyone send a photo of themselves with a drink in their hand for a job interview? Why not send a professional photo?

lol, I think you misread. The picture I uploaded is just me at a wedding wearing a 3 piece suit, I'm not holding a drink or anything, the picture is fine in my opinion but I guess it doesn't suffice for them because it only shows me from the neck up. What I was saying is just about all of my other pix are me out and about, I don't have a whole lot of professional looking pix. So I'm just gonna have a friend take a mugshot of me tomorrow.

It was the random "like" that threw me off. There are plenty of website out there that will properly size photos to fit with passport regulations.

Passport photo? Am I missing something? I already provided them a photocopy of my passport. As for resizing any given picture to the same dimensions as a passport photo, I think I can handle that in photoshop.

Living in another country is a fantastic life experience. Stay for a year and you'll have stories and experiences to share for the rest of your life. I don't know a thing about this Talk program but you should live comfortably with 1.5M won and time flies here when you get into the swing of things.

They want a passport sized photo and a copy of your photo page in your passport. Two different things.
