Well I've been dealt a shitty hand when it comes to the ole mop on the head. Hair is thin as all hell and I'm looking for a surgical remedy. Korea has made me more depressed about it, especially since rarely do I see anyone balding at my age(29). feelsbadman.jpg
Anyway, have you or anyone you know had a hair transplant in Korea? I'm grateful for any advice.. other than shave it off, be a man about it, get a tan, blablabla..
Thanks |

Blah blah blah........oh by the way, bald is in now. Embrace the new you with some shaving cream and a sharp blade.
You'll be doing fine in no time.
Seriously,I don't have any info about hair transplants in Korea, but do you really want your head carved up with a scalpel and have a hairline which resembles a doll's head at what probably comes down to a good expense.
oh......and get a tan too!
It's not such a shitty hand to be losing hair.
Two-three times a week, I lather up the old grape and scrape it clean.Feels great and looks even greater!
I lost all my hair at 21 and have been doing better without any over the last 16 years.
Women love giving bald dudes head rubs also so that's another bonus.
You'll also look more badass, save money on hair products and more importantly, save time in the mornings. It's great to be able to hop out of bed and not have to do anything with your hair. Winning! |

Disregard this. Unless you are a black guy you won't look more badass. Hair on men is important to women, period. Not to say that bald guys never get laid, but having hair is important. |

Only black guys look badass bald?......no way Jose!
Hair on men is important to a small percentage of women. Just as big boobs on women are important to a small percentage of men.
I know plenty of chicks that dig the shaven head look.
As a bald guy I got laid tons more than I did as a hairy guy. It's all about how you swagger. and how confident you are.
Hair ranks very very low on the attributes most women look for in a partner. |

Hair is important to many women but not to all. Some women actually like bald men more than men with hair and many dont care one way or the other.
The problem with hair transplants is I think they still are having problems making them look good. But if you want to have a transplant, $4000 US would put a lot of hair on your head at Bumrungrad hospital in Bangkok. |

| I can spot a hair transplant from across the room. Until they can make it look perfect, shave it. |

This guy is wrong ^^^
Modern Micrografts are unoticable.
Yeah about 5mil won will get you about four finger's of hair from your original hairline back.
it is unoticable, using current tech such as micro / nano grafts.
I knew a guy who was bald as a coot on top with just hair round the sides and back back in 2003. Saw him early 2004 after he went away to thailand for few months and he had a full head of hair which you never would have ever have guessed had had work done.
Cost him about ten mil for that.
They take a line of folicles from the bottom of the back of your head, near the neckline and transplant each individual hair into an empty folicle hole at the front of your head after cleaning them out and priming them.
you have to treat it delicately for the first month or so, even wear a hat and not wash it etc, so best to take a month off of work.
And whilst you may not be crafting it into wild styles as it will always be just a bit less hardy than your original hair you lost, a simple parting or brushed forward style will look fine and nobody would ever guess had they never seen you before. |

declan74 doesn't seem to understand that not everybody has a good head for being bald. We don't all look like Bruce Willis or Vin Diesel when we shave the dome. I myself have a very odd shaped head. I shaved it clean last year and it was a rough 4 months waiting for it to come back.
There are two main kinds of surgeries done these days. However, you'll only find one done in Korea, trust me, I've looked.
The first one is strip. The doc will take a strip of your scalp from the back of your head. He will then take the hair from that strip and transplant it on the top/front. It will leave you with a pencil thin scar on the back of your head that will be obvious if you keep your hair short. But if you keep it a little long in the back, only your stylist can tell. You get a lot of hair that way and the coverage looks great. You're looking at something like 25k - 35k grafts for about $10k-$15k usd. This is quite common in Korea.
The other one is called FUE. It's done in the US and parts of Europe. It just hasn't spread to the rest of the world yet. Instead of taking a scrip of your scalp, the doc will instead pull individual grafts from the back of your head and maybe side. There is no scaring and even if you buzz your head, no one can tell you have any hair pulled from the back. Doing this though, means you get less coverage on top or front. You'lle only get about 15k grafts. Which is usually just enough to reinforce your receding hairline where it is or fill in the crown a little. You're not going to get a full head of hair like with the strip. It's also quite expensive. $20k usd is going to be the low end. But it is the most natural looking option out there. I'd be surprised if you found a doctor in Korea though.
I'm planning to wait it out. We'll get this figured out eventually and some time in the future I'm sure will be able to just pop a pill and all our natural hair comes back. Some day man. Some day. |

This is a topic I have researched extensively as I am also going bald. Here is my take on it.
Hair transplants are very expensive and don't work for most men. The transplant leaves a massive scar on the back of the head. Most Surgeons are bad at the job and will really butcher you.
The worst part is that Hair Transplant surgery also requires that you take DHT Hormone blocking drugs like Propecia. These drugs are extremely dangerous. Read propeciahelp.com if you want to know more about them.
So what's the other options.
A) Shave it all off and go bald. Some men like this and find it a relief.
B) Wear a toupee. I personally recommend this option and well start wearing one in a few years myself. Modern toupees are very good see this video below.

Save your money, be outgoing and generous, go to the gym, and buy some nice clothes.
That's what most decent women want anyway. |

Plus one for the above post!
2 scenarios:
"Man A" is 5,5, a bit overweight, and as dull as dishwater. However he has amazingly, stunning hair, hair that would stop the world in its tracks.Hair for the ages. He could easily be in shampoo commercials or be the next Vidal Sasoon guy.
Man B IS 6,0,in pretty good shape, genuinely fun bloke to be around, gentlemanly and the like. However, he doesn't have enough hair to make a wig for a peanut.
I think most women would choose Mr.Baldy, despite the fact that he's bald as he has many other positive attributes, hair obviously not being one of them.
Chin up and head shining I say!
I've forgotten about more women than radcon has ever gotten |

I guess going bald is hard for some guys to handle. The 1970's for example, were a bad time for balding men. Head shaving was simply not done unlessyou were a hardcore skin or a member of a religious sect.
Lots of bad combovers, toupees, and generally bad hairdos.
Today,us baldies are nearing a majority and luckily, most ppl don't give a rat's arse about hair anymore.
Even after a transplant, you will never get your old hairline and coverage back. But hey,if that's what you need to get by in life,I wish you all the best with your transplant.
Yul Brynner and Kojak are turning in their graves......lol

| My friend's husband got it done here in Korea. It was at least 6 months of looking somewhat frankensteinish... but a year on, I can't tell, and it looks quite good. |
