Their contract is standard. There was no contract negotiation.

Like every job, you don't really know what you get til you start. I actually love the job, but I'm leaving for other reasons. I gave them plenty of notice and am causing no problems.

I would have regretted not trying to get the money.

The only reason you're getting on me is because you need to go on internet forums and bash people to make yourself feel better.

No, I'm responding to your threatening and counterproductive language:

Anyway I asked about it and argued that it was reasonable to keep the airfare. Of course they said no, it was their policy.

I pushed it further and said I'm not staying this last month unless I could keep it.

I was really ready to buy an earlier ticket home, but I didn't want to cause any problems for my coworkers who I like.

There is nothing wrong with making a try for fairness. I've seen it work. But threats are not acceptable and will cause many people who might have listened to a reasoned request to harden their position and refuse to budge.

You attacked, you threatened, and you shot yourself in the foot.

Others can learn from this mistake, and maybe, in the future, you can too.

How did I shoot myself in the foot?

There was / is no ill effect for me.

You don't understand the situation and I'm not going into anymore detail.

I think you get some pleasure in going on forums and nit picking every post. You are full of yourself.
