Does anyone have any experience doing skype classes? I'm seeing the adverts on Dave's and it looked interesting.
The hours must be insane, especially since I'm still in the western hemisphere, but wth, give it a shot, right? |

I know a few people doing this from Canada and the US. The time difference WILL make for odd hours. You will go through a hit and miss process as the companies that hire teachers to deliver these classes vary in quality. There are lots of fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants companies that deliver online TEFL lessons. These are North American or Asian companies.
The better companies pay more and are better organized but demand more as well.
As an aside, eaching via Skype demands a hell of a lot of preparation as you are using a different medium than the ole in class lesson. If you do not consider this, the "lessons" will be painful for you and your poor student(s)! |
