Anyway, maybe the snarkiness is a reaction to the arrogance of some Americans, like those who boast that America is better. America is gone to Hell in a handbasket, and most Americans know it. But then again, so is the whole world. (Except Canada, of course, haha!)
Op, well done. You got a rise out of me, and I'm not even patriotic. |

Having grown up in the States and attended uni in Canada, I can say there are two types in this eternal battle who drive me absolutely insane:
1) Canadians with little actual knowledge of the States or its politics who enjoy discussing how flawed America is and how stupid Americans are. Inferiority complex ftw.
2) Americans who seem to really believe that Canada is our backwards bumpkin neighbor to the north. Superiority complex ftw. |

It used to be the Canadians who would start these discussions. But shamefully, it seems they no longer have to: they just look south and say, "poor bastards."
Don't get me wrong, I believe Canada will soon share in our misery, but for right now they can justifiably scoff at American claims of superiority.
And so here it is, a fellow American, starting one of these ridiculous national pissing match threads. I feel national shame. But I am not surprised, given the OP's previous contributions to CE, that he would start such a thread. |

Making fun of Americans is one small component of Canadian humour, not the foundation of it.

Geez lighten up!! I know you seal clubbers are known for having no
sense of humor. I had one igloo dweller tell me in all seriousness that Canada was great because it has a lot of water. Just hilarious. He got angry when I started laughing.
The Op is having fun with you. He doesnt care if the Korean girl wraps herself in the Canadian flag and carries a hockey stick with her.
I'm from SOuth Florida and in the winter we get thousands of Canadians visiting and they seem to be very nice people. They seem just like Americans. |
