| I have gotten my FBI check twice before in the past. It took about 6 to 8 weeks both times. I am not sure why everyone keeps saying that it will take 12 weeks. Nobody I know has waited that long. It you do wait that long then I think there must have been something wrong with the application. Most teachers I have met that have sent in their requests to the FBI for a CBC have waited no longer than two months. Usually it was much less. Anyways, OP I wish you the best of luck. |

Wasn't meaning to start an argument and I didn't insinuate you were lying. I just find it strange that for some people it has taken 6 weeks and others like 12 weeks. I just sent my finger prints out to the FBI for my CBC but I don't need to renew my VISA until February. I appreciate people giving a heads up on the turn around time. I am just stating my general experience and that of others I know. I wish everyone the best of luck in getting these documents |

6 weeks is long enough. The problem is have you ever heard of anything taking that long? A drivers license takes a few days, longest is 2 weeks. If they have so many, why not hire more workers.

| Took me 8 weeks here to the day. Made me feel like they had it waiting for a while and actually waited until 8 weeks to send it back. |

| 10 weeks turn around with 1 whole month of it's 6 month validity gone upon receipt due to it being ran on September 20th. This means I still have more than enough time as long as I apply for a visa by early March though plan to be ready for an early December start. |

| Provincial Courts in NL took 1 week and RCMP took another week. Probably was so fast because I did my provincial in Corner Brook and my RCMP in St Anthony where I was the first person to do this in like 4 months. |

FBI received my request Sept 6th.
Spoke to a lady last week who said it would be mailed out Nov. 9th (tomorrow).
Called them today to make sure, and then they said it would be mailed out the end of this week or next.
So, it is taking 9-10 weeks for processing now.
And don't believe anything they say when you call them. |

Yeah, for the Garda. I think the countries that have the smaller populations seem to get these things done more quickly. Therefore I can only assume that criminal background checks in Scotland should be done in days if Alex Salmond gets his way and creates a single police force and tells England to take a hike.

Dang - they got mine on Sept. 29th , so I WAS looking at a Thanksgiving return time ... guess Christmas is looking more like it ... (sarcasm ... hopefully! )
Hopefully my EPIK spot will still be okay if they get my documents in early December ????
I'm okay with any of my three city choices, so I'm not concerned about that - just don't want to lose my spot.
Luckily, Philly to DC is only a 3 hour drive for the apostilling |

You prolly already know this , but i read somewhere they only do walk in apostilling in DC during the mornings.(from 7 am-ish til 11:30 am-ish ??)
so catch that bus EARLY
I took a Greyhound bus from Chinatown once to get to Ocean City, MD and what WOULD have been a 3 hour car drive turned out to be a bus ride of 6 + hours , as the bus stopped in EVERY po-dunk town's bus station from Philly to OCMD. |
