|
|
I've heard of different people working as teachers, and then also working at radio stations, etc as a second job..
I also read on these forums it's more or less straightforward now that with written approval from your school, you can add a second workplace at immigration providing the second workplace is of fewer hours than the sponsor of your E2 visa.
What I'd like to confirm is whether a second job added to an E2 visa must be a teaching job? Can it be a radio station? Can it be something totally unrelated to teaching like bartending or retail? |

You are unlikely to be allowed to work as a bartender on an E2 (but don't let my advice stop you from applying at immigration - it is entirely up to them).
You CAN apply for the addition of a non-related workplace/employer to your status of sojourn at immigration. The rules for the addition are the same as getting a primary visa (prove you can do the job and that a Korean is not available to do the job).
The cost is 60k won for the addition of a workplace on your ARC.

I was able to be a Radio host while I was teaching in Busan.
My employer signed a special sheet granting me permission, and then Immigration put a special sticker in my passport that says "Permission for Engaging in Activities Not Covered By the Status of Soujourn."
There was no condition about the number of hours I worked, but maybe that has changed. |
