|
|
I am looking around for a new job and will be able to transfer my current visa when my contract ends.
It seems like quite a few places are asking for scanned copies of a current criminal record check, with the original to be produced at interview. That's fair enough for people new to the country - but in my case it doesn't matter as I can transfer.
Two questions:
1. Has anyone managed to get their current check back from immigration? (I am guessing they keep it!)
2. Anyone applied for jobs and mentioned this transfer option?
I'm British and have always produced a nationwide check. My degree was apostilled etc. I can apply for another check but it ain't going to be here in time to meet application deadlines. |

A Disclosure Scotland Basic CRC (UK-wide) only took 4 days to arrive (seriously, though it can take about 10 days during busy periods). Maybe you could do that and get it DHLed to you in Korea? |

It is NOT an immigration requirement.
It IS a MOE requirement (new law passed last July and due to be implemented early in 2012) and as published in one of the local papers, they will accept a photo-copy of the one you submitted to immigration.
You MAY be able to get a copy of the one you originally submitted (as was suggested in the article) but I have no confirmation of this happening.

So Ttom, to clarify, The MOE is now asking us to provide copies of the documents we submitted to immigration 6months-1year ago? These same documents, we were told, we wouldn't need to submit again just over a year ago?
Not to mention, my CRC wouldn't be current now, so even if immigration were kind enough to give me a copy, I'd still need to get a new one? |

Cheers for the info. I had heard there was a new rule coming but not exactly what it was.
My crim check was done in January this year so I may as well apply for another just in case.
It is frustrating that having had all this done and apostilled that I have to do it again. I really did think this was the last time I'd have to prove yet again that I have qualifications and a clean record.
Meanwhile I see other jobs asking for sealed transcripts. That must be an individual request, or are we going to be required to do that again as well? |

Transcripts are not an immigration requirement.
They are sometimes asked for by the consulate when applying for a first E2.
They may be asked for as an employer requirement (more often with uni /unigwon jobs).

MoE still checks for them, if they have some doubt on the Diploma |
