Lots of people prefer Seoul.

I'm still looking for a job and thought my inbox would be flooded with jobs....I sent my pic and resume to six recruiters. I got a response from 4 and spoke with them on the phone, but only got 4-5 jobs sent to me in a month. I finally got 2 interviews and offers from schools in Daegu, but did not like the contract on the first one and then 2nd one wanted me to work prior to receiving my visa.

I got an interview on Monday with a school in Guri City and I hope to get that job. I have yet to see any jobs in Seoul and very few in the surrounding areas. I think there are plenty of jobs, you just have to go south a little bit.

An investor visa? Sure if you have 100 million won to invest. But wait there's a catch to that as well. That has to be money you earned OUTSIDE of Korea.

Wait, what? Why did they make that rule? Too many English teachers saving their pennies and switching over? lol

Check the job boards and look for recruiters. They can help.

Is anyone else having trouble finding a decent hakwon job near Seoul? I started off with high standards, now I just want something half decent. I don't want to work till 11pm or work 50 hours week (around 9am till 730pm I have been offered a few times). Am I asking too much? 9pm would be fine. What happened to those jobs?

I have a year of teaching experience at a public school, which I wasn't able to stay at cause of the GEPIK cuts. Is it all the former GEPIK teachers applying for hakwon jobs that's making it difficult? Or do I just suck? Am I being unrealistic in hoping I can find a job that doesn't look terrible?
