| Lol what? How old are the kids? I can't relate because I haven't done that stuff as a kid, but then kids here like to put their fingers in buttholes. |

Many Koreans do strange things, and it could possibly be seen as being racist. They sometimes seem to prefer Caucasians, so maybe they take on some the same racist attitudes some Caucasians display. At times, they did things that reminded me of the racism I've experienced in Columbia, SC, at my university. Columbia, SC, where the weather is warm and the people are racist, especially in an academic environment. Schools should be both formally and informally desegregated. For instance, a child called me a bad name. Moreover, many Koreans seem quick to criticize and never to compliment, even when an individual is working their hardest. I have had many problems with this in Korea and in Columbia, SC, although I graduated top of my class and in 2.5 years. Thus, I think it's possible, because it seems like Korean people can admire the worst of Western culture, although it does them no good.
The thing that bothers me the most is they do not seem to respect themselves, and never are self aware of how bad they look in front of foreigners, much like arrogant Americans when visiting abroad, except Korea is a much smaller and less affluent country. Maybe some Koreans, especially those in the ESL profession, suffer from a reverse superiority complex or inferiority complex. To behave so badly to people trying to help educate their children speaks volumes. My former employers acted as if I wanted to live their permanently, despite their deplorable behavior. So delusional! I was only in Korea for 2.5 years. That's the same amount of time I spent at my university, and I hated that place and wasn't getting paid to be there. I only worked for my former employer for 14 months. I think more Korean ESL employers should spend time abroad. They really need to learn about other cultures realize, in many ways, Korea has not made a name for itself in the international arena. In my opinion, you need to be a heavy weight politically before you carelessly show your a**
in front of other nationalities.
It really is a problem for them. I mean if their was a war against North and South, I would not want Americans to fight and that's because of my experience in the last two years. From my own personal experience and those of others, I think we should forget about them and let them take care of their own problems. It's not worth American casualities and money, because they are so cruel to ESL teachers. Really, how dare they!! Teachers should be respected.

My friend who worked in Cheonan said the same thing. She watched for how the young ones would come to hung her because they wanted to grab her boobs. You may say that, in comparison to Korean females (generally) Western women often have larger boobs, so the kids will be curious. Being an apologist has its limits, folks. I get that, but that's horrible manners, and it makes you think they think it's okay because it's a Western female, not a Korean one. I doubt they'd do that to a Korean female with large breasts. |

All other arguments and issues aside, you think the US should stay out of Korea solely due to how they treat ESL teachers? |
