Can you get betel nut in Korea (ie at Chinese / Indian / Thai / Indonesian / ? / shops)? Or is it illegal? I haven't really seen it.

They have them at the Foreign Food Mart in Itaewon. I almost bought a bag of them once mistaking them for whole nutmegs (which they also carry).

That would've been an extremely unpleasant surprise.

That said, I kinda like betel nut.
