| The local AFN channel (34 over the air) is saying every hour or so that they will be broadcasting it; but if not, I DO have a DoD decoder....... Who wants to go to a smoky/smelly bar at 9:00 am anyway?? |

Sloppy game, but mildly entertaining. Sabean is way overated. But I guess LSU fans already knew that.

SEC defenses are good, but their offenses are gawd awful. I don't believe the "defense makes the offenses look bad" argument.
If Andrew Luck, Kellan Moore, or Russel Wilson was the QB for either team, there would've been more TD's. |

Two disgustingly similar boring teams. I think OU and Stanford would make for a better natty champ game. Hopefully an overrated LSU team will lose in the SEC Championship to USCe.
I think there is no question that both of these teams would have gotten annihilated by the 08 Florida team and possibly the 09 Bama team. |

Like, there is a drought and someone says, "Hey, I wish there was more rain."
Or, your out of milk and you ask your room mate "Hey, can you pick up more milk?"
Or, there is a football game with zero touchdowns and you say, "Man, I wish there were more touchdowns."
Do you need some more examples? |

Other conferences are having problems with Alabama's and LSU's offenses. Penn State would be undefeated if it hadn't given up a season high 27 points in its loss to Alabama. Oregon would be undefeated if it hadn't given up a season high 40 points in its loss to LSU. West Virginia gave up 47 points in its loss to LSU.
Bama and LSU had been scoring a lot of points all season in SEC and non-conference games until they played each other. |

I don't care what they did in other games, I watched this game and the offenses (esp. QB) were not good. Bama had an easy TD but the ball was badly underthrown to a very open receiver. There were several blown coverages where the h-back was completely uncovered. Not fielding that punt and allowing to bounce for 70+ yards was pathetic (and I don't buy the ankle excuse, had he properly judged the ball, it would have been an easy catch).
Also, scores can be deceiving. Your Oregon example for instance. LSU only had 273 yards in that game and averaged 3.6 yards a carry. Against Bama they had 239 yards and also averaged 3.6 yards a carry. LSU scored 40 against OU because their defense scored and their defense also set them up for some very short drives. OU had 4 turnovers. LSU didn't score 40 because their offense was humming, but because their defense was stellar. |

The SEC is the best conference in college football. The offense is just as good as other schools. But the difference is usually the defense.
And yes a defense can make an offense look bad. |
