hi
the philippine embassy requires notarized Letter of Guarantee, Employment Certificate or Bank Statement for visa. anyone has any idea how i can get this done in korea ?
how can i notarize documents.

thanks for the reply. i need this information urgently. i will give u my details.
I am an indian but my wife is a filipina. i work at Samsung Electronics in Suwon.
2 years back, i went to Manila twice. however, i was able to get visa using Letter
of Guarantee, Bank Statement, Employment Certificate. no notarization is
required.
i gave my documents to a travel agent, and he got back to me saying that
notarization of the Letter of Guarantee and Bank Statement/Employment
Certificate is needed.
by the way, can i get this visa without my company's help since my wife is
from philippines. will her invitation or letter of guarantee help me ?/
I need to go to Manila in Jan [Lunar new year] so I have sufficient time.

Notarization of the letter of guarantee verifies that the signature is authentic.
The same with the bank statement - guarantees the authenticity of the document.
There should be an officer in the bank who can notarize / authenticate the bank statement.
The signatory of the letter of guarantee will need to go to a notary and have him witness the signing and stamp it.
Not sure why they want the notarization on the certificate of employment (it should already have the company seal on it).
Your embassy, a Korean notary or quite possibly the bank officer should be able to legalize your documents for you. There should also be someone at the local gu-office who can assist with legalization of the (Korean issued) documents. Fees vary widely.
You can get the visa without your company's help (beyond issuing a certificate of employment).
What the Philippine embassy wants is proof that you will leave the RP and not stay on illegally, proof of continued employment (reason and right to return to Korea or India) and proof of funds to pay for your visit and ensure that you won't become stranded in the RP.
Talking to the (Philippine) embassy staff (in person) may find another route (doubtful but possible) for a short stay visa based on your marriage.
You can always begin the process for a 13a (non-quota immigrant visa) based on your marriage. I don't know how long that will take from abroad.
It usually takes a couple of months to do it when the foreigner is in the Philippines.
I am not sure how balikbayan status may affect the visa requirements (if you travel with your wife) since you are a passport holder from one of the few countries on the restricted list for entry to the Philippines.

Thanks a lot. That was some useful info.
I asked my wife to call Phil Embassy and enquire. The guy at embassy told that there is a Notary near the embassy itself. Anyways, I will first try to find a notary in Suwon. If I succeed, then it should be easier.
I did not know about the 13a option. I will look into it.
