Ditto.........I'm convinced most of it was made months ago and just sits around in massive warehouses until 11/11..........it always tastes stale to me.

If you don't like peppero, you are free to leave Korea at your nearest convenience.

I love Yan-yan. They are delicious. The chocolate and strawberry ones are great.

Even funnier to read the ingredients to find the #1 thing is cheese.

In our greedy hands those Peppero go
Between the children in a row
They eat so many they get high
They don't even have to try -
It's a special day don't ya know

We love Peppero. A few hours ago
We bought another dozen or so,
At the super down the road, they're now
In our greedy hands.

"Pass me another Jin Sook, and Min Ho:
I just love those Peppero
I need to get my sugar high."
And so you need not question why
They sell so well along the row
Into our greedy hands.

My nextdoor Family Mart tonight has a big balloon arch over tables outdoors piled high with varieties of pepero. A lot will go unsold, I wonder what they do with it?

I'm heartened that many of my middle school girls planned to make their own at home this year. Turning a commercial event into something more fun & personal.

Teachers at my school are strongly promoting an exchange of garaetteok (cylindrical rice cake) instead. It remains to be seen how that flies with the kids.

I prefer the "naked" ones myself...the ones with the chocolate INSIDE. Unfortunately, I won't be teaching on Super Peppero Day so my chances of scoring some are nil.

But next week, they'll all be on sale and I can stock up!

Or, this year having an extra 11 in it - makes it (to mix languages) Maha-ppeppero day! (In Sanskrit, maha is the great, the ultimate, the super-duper....)

However, I can't eat ppepperos - I am allergic to them.
