It's Millennium Pepero Day according to the commercials. I tried calling it centennial Pepero Day and no one understood my complex logic.
At any rate, the idea of a healthy alternative to Pepero Day is annoying. How about just a moderate Pepero Day. I remember as a kid, there were 'freaks' whose parent's would allow them to participate in Halloween. I always felt sorry for those kids.

Genius piece of marketing, truly.

I wonder what kind of increase in profits they see on this day?

I mean at least half of the 45 million people in the country spending say chun won....

Aiy yai yai!

I think I read the answer to your question on Wikipedia (seriously). The increase is HUGE!

I prefer Pepero Day over V-Day and W-Day. How often can you buy love for 1,000 Won? And get a fair chance of an even return?

You have to admit that the makers of Peppero have a great marketing strategy. How many other countries have a "holiday" devoted to a snack??? I'd say "NONE"

There was an effort to make March 3 Triangular Kimbap Day,
but that didn't seem to go over very well.
