Poor guy, is that all you saw in my comments above? What a waste of my time, eh?
By the way, calling people apologists doesn't really help with argumentation. Who knows, maybe I'm a Pierre Nora-reading apologist myself.
I'm still wondering how the Jim Crow laws ended up being a matter of cultural difference. |

I'm pretty sure you're left wondering about a lot of things rchristo.
If you read more slowly and posted with more direct reference to the poster you were quoting, I'm sure this would be less of an issue.
I know this is common online but I didn't expect in in a community made up almost entirely of university graduates.
Again, you quoted me out of context and repeatedly refused to acknowledge my explanation of why I made the comments I did. You were thus not even having a conversation with ME, so why even bother quoting me? |

Perhaps I should be more explicit: (Lord knows we wouldn't want to engage in self-reflection or online miming) how are the Jim Crow laws somehow summed up as a matter of cultural difference?
And, yes, considering that wonder is the father of creation I'd have to agree; I am often "left wondering about many things." Please correct me if I happen to quote out of context. |

Ok, seems you don't read dave's much?
Whenever someone posts a link or example of Koreans showing prejudiced behaviour or treatment to non koreans, certain posters will try to negate the issue by saying things like 'well the US had slavery, so they were just as bad' instead of discussing the matter at hand without comparing Korea to another country.
Can I please be any more clearer? I'd truly love to keep this up...
Please also let me know how one might take a photograph in future to capture a conversation with a bar owner.
That old Father of creation, wonder, is leaving me stumped on this one. Perhaps the bar owner could hold up signs like Bob Dylan did in that video he did way back?
Perhaps I could 'online mime' the conversation?
Could you kindly explain to me how one does that? I've never mimed online (or offline in that matter, but I do like their funny white faces and cute expressions!) before, but would be willing to try it out!
Sounds 'wonder'full! |

I had a photo of one of these "No Nigerians" signs from 4 years ago. It was hanging on the door of The Manhattan restaurant.
I asked them why they had such a sign, and if they thought it was racist. They said, "We don't mind black people here. We don't want Nigerians."
Surprised, I asked for more information.
The employee then told me that it was because they will buy one cola, sit there for hours, and do nothing but oogle the girl customers, and annoy them. They had to kick several out, and they make a scene when this happens. |

I don't know if I still have it. If I do, it would be on an old external HDD at work. I'll pick around for it some day soon, if I can remember it, but I don't know if it's still here. |
