Hello. My friend has been talking about coming to Korea for awhile - and coincidentally the hagwon owner asked me last week if I had any trustworthy friends that I would like to refer for one of the positions opening up in January. I said YES!

I spoke to my friend, and she was excited about the opportunity. She will begin her documents process today, but I'm worried that she will not have enough time to get it completed before the January 2nd start date because of the FBI CRC check.

Is there a way to expedite the FBI CRC process instead of waiting the estimated 4-12 weeks?

Pay for the expedited FBI service ($60 extra I think), and then use an apostille service. Those will vary but are usually $100-300

2. Do you have procedures for expeditious handling?

No. The CJIS Division does not expedite requests; however, an expedited response may be provided by an FBI-approved Channeler.

Note: An FBI-approved Channeler cannot authenticate (apostille) fingerprint search results. A request for your FBI Identification Record or proof that a record does not exist must be submitted directly to the FBI if an authentication (apostille) is needed.

There is your answer, give and take, its funny how you can expedite a requests through a channeler, BUT a channeler cannot authenticate your fingerprints result. So what's the use?

Can you still get an apostille if a notary from the agency that expedited it seals the document? This would be worth checking into.

This has been discussed on this board before. My understanding is this, that Korean immigration or School districts will not accept any FBI checks that are not done through the CJIS Divisions. So this is pretty final.
