i'm looking for a long distance touring cycle, as i'm planning to do a seoul to busan bike trip in the near future. i don't have the proper bike though.
any good recs on shops that have a decent supply in stock? looking more for the Western, high-quality brands. figure those may be really pricey here tho.
any thoughts/feedback on bike shopping in korea? |

I second this reco. Good selection, fair prices (for Korea), and the owner speaks English. |

GIANT brand bikes are here. I was sized for one, which was quite a bit larger than the average Korean bike, and they had it from the warehouse inside of 2 days.
Go to www.enuri.com and do a search on whatever western brand you want. That will lead you to several shops. I know that there is a huge one in Apkujeong that sells off of there, and also gives their address. I bought from a local guy I found at the time, though.
I know bianchi and cannondale are popular here, too. |

bikeland.co.kr exit 4 at jungnang station. A small shop but packed with bikes, and with a dedicated staff. A genius mechanic, and someone who can speak english on duty. |

Hi,
I just finished a 2000km trek around Korea, starting and ending in Seoul, taking in the four corners of the country and the outlying coastline. I bought a road bike through Daves ESL, but found a couple of good bike shops for other supplies and upgrades.
Yongsan area - MTB Yongsan, just by Samgakji Station (line 4) come out exit 4 and it is next to the fire station.
- ?????? name, further down same road, past Yongsan I-Park towards Han River.
Banpo - Great big bike shop just by Shingsaegae Dept Store, walk out exit 8-2 (I think) and towards the Banpo bridge, it is just under the bridge on right-hand side.
Good luck, beautiful riding throughout Korea, but be careful of road traffic and the fact that roads have a tendency to change in to expressways at a drop of the hat!! |
